New Service: Thinking Partner

New service for executive directors, development directors, and program leaders who need a thinking partner, not another consultant

There's a loneliness at the top of nonprofit organizations that rarely gets talked about. You're responsible for major decisions, but you often don't have peers you can think out loud with—people who get the unique pressures of nonprofit work.

Consider everything on your plate right now: program decisions, budget concerns that keep you up at night, staff who need your support, board members you're trying to keep engaged. It's a lot. And finding time to step back and actually think strategically? Nearly impossible.

I'd like to offer you something different: dedicated time to think strategically about your organization and its future, with someone who understands the nonprofit world and can help you see what you might be missing. This partnership is designed for leaders who are new to their role or early in their nonprofit career.

What Strategic Thinking Partnerships Look Like

These are collaborative conversations where you develop your own path forward. We create space to work through whatever you're facing: decisions you're wrestling with, persistent challenges, opportunities you're trying to evaluate.

These conversations are completely confidential. You can be candid about what's really happening—board dynamics, staff challenges, funding concerns—without worrying about judgment or disclosure.

The value comes from having someone who knows the sector (35 years across planning, development, leadership, and operations), asks questions that surface blind spots, and helps you see patterns you're too close to notice. You leave with clarity on next steps and—over time—stronger capacity to think strategically rather than just react operationally.

Most leaders start with a single one-hour session focused on a specific challenge. Monthly sessions are also available—two one-hour sessions per month for those seeking continuity and deeper strategic thinking over time—at rates that respect nonprofit budget realities.

Interested? Email me at j.leschensky@working-strategies.com with a brief description of your role and one challenge you're currently wrestling with. I'll respond within two business days to schedule an initial conversation.
